What TO Expect

Though serious about the Word of God, we don’t take ourselves too seriously.  On a given Sunday you will find some men wearing ties and jackets and others in shorts (even in the winter) and women wear dresses, skirts, pants, or jeans.  People bring their personal copy of the Scriptures with them and extra Bibles are available.

After service we have a time of fellowship over coffee and snacks.  It’s a great time to get to know others and share your prayer requests, triumphs and challenges of the week. We also have Sunday School for all ages.  We start at 9:30 am (as of 8/18/2019), fellowship after the chairs are put away  and Sunday school begins at 11:20, then we wrap up at around noon. On the first Sunday of the month we have a fellowship meal after service and no Sunday School.  During the summer months we do not have Sunday School.

The adults spend time reviewing and discussing the sermon.  The children are divided into two groups. The younger group has learned the attributes of God through a curriculum called “the ABCs of God”, Pilgrim’s Progress and now are doing The Picture Smart Bible, an art based curriculum that summarizes each book of the Bible. The older group has learned the Westminster Shorter Catechism with accompanying proof texts.  Now they are going through a book called “Who is Jesus?”  We take a break during the summer months.
